The Barry County Museum is extremely excited to host the Museum on Main Street (MOMS) Traveling exhibit New Harmonies.

This incredible opportunity has been made available by partnering with the Missouri Humanities Council and the Smithsonian Institution.

Through a selection of photographs, recordings, instruments, lyrics and artist profiles, New Harmonies explores the distinct cultural identities of Gospel, Country, Blues and other forms of roots music as they record the history of the American people and set the foundation for many musical genres appreciated worldwide today.

The dates for the exhibit are June 19 through July 31, 2010. In conjunction with the exhibit, the Barry County Museum will be planning performances and events related to the various type of music presented in display.
